Maintenance

Die plate maintenance operations include:

  1. A global scope of works

    • Cleaning of the die plate in an oven, with strict control of heating and cooling rates in order not to damage the cutting face hard material.

    • Cleaning of the manifold.

    • Cleaning of the heating circuit.

    • Cleaning of the threads.

    • Dismounting & Re-mounting of the manifold.

    • Sand-blasting of the die plate.

    • Plugging of any defective hole with specially adapted aluminum inserts.

    • Removal of any defective insert.

    • Grinding of the front & back faces.

    • Grinding of the cutting face.

    • Supply of HPG insulating system with screws.


  2. A complete set of quality controls and documentation

    • Dimensional.

    • Flatness of the cutting face.

    • Flatness of the back face.

    • Sealing test of the heating circuit.

    • Measurement of remaining tungsten carbide thickness (AMN die plates).

    • Checking report at receipt.

    • Checking report before shipment.


  3. Any additional works that may apply, depending on the die plate condition

    • Dye penetrant test on the cutting face, before and after the repair works, in order to detect any abnormality in hard material integrity.

    • Heating circuit leakage repair.

    • Extraction of broken screws.

    • Repairing of the threads.

    • Repairing of packing box or supply of a new one.

    • Restoring of front face and back face fitting diameter dimensions.

    • Surface treatments: polishing, nitration, chromium nitride, titanium nitride, chemical nickel.

Knife-holder maintenance operations include:

  1. A global scope of works

    • Complete dismounting of knife-holder.

    • Expertise and sand-blasting of each part.

    • Remounting with new aligning pins and new gaskets when necessary.

    • Final adjustment and realignment.


  2. A complete set of quality controls and documentation

    • Dimensional.

    • Checking report at receipt.

    • Checking report before shipment.


  3. Any additional works that may apply, depending on the knife-holder condition

    • Replacement of badly worn out parts by new ones.

AMN staff considers die plate and knife-holder maintenance operations as important as new part manufacturing. The overhaul works are handled by operators accumulating decades of know-how and expertise. Our machinery is specially adapted to the most complicated situations.

Delivery:

Our organization allows short lead times; most of the cases (without heavy repairs) can be handled in 1 to 2 weeks, excluding transportation. We also can help in case of emergency.
